If your emails aren't sending or appear stuck, here are the most common fixes:
Check your email queue status
Go to Automations or Broadcasts and look for the status:
• Queued: Email is scheduled and waiting to send
• Sending: Currently processing
• Sent: Successfully delivered
• Failed: There was an issue (see below)
Common reasons emails don't send
Your automation is paused
Go to Automations and check if your automation shows as "Paused" or "Inactive". Click Activate to resume sending.
No contacts match your audience criteria
If you've set up filters (tags, lists, smart lists), double-check that contacts actually meet those criteria.
Quick test: Try sending to a single specific contact to confirm the automation works.
Sending limits reached
Better Email has daily sending limits based on your plan. Check your Settings to see if you've hit your daily limit.
If you need higher limits, you can upgrade your plan or wait until tomorrow when limits reset.
Required fields not completed in Settings
Go to Settings and confirm all required fields are filled out:
• Sender name
• Reply-to email
• Physical address (required for CAN-SPAM compliance)
Missing required fields will prevent emails from sending.
Emails stuck "Sending" for hours
This usually means:
• High volume: If you're sending to a large list, it can take time
• CRM sync delay: If pulling from a CRM, wait a few minutes for sync to complete
• System processing: Peak times may slow delivery slightly
If stuck for more than 2 hours, contact support.
